
Why we build our outdoor heaters to be taken apart
Let’s be honest: the outdoors is brutal on gear. Between the rain, the dust, and those crazy temperature swings, everything eventually wears down. It’s especially true for heating elements. If a tube burns out after five years, the last thing you want to do is throw the whole heater in the trash. That’s just wasteful. So, we designed our IP65 infrared modules to make sure that doesn’t happen.
The “Plug-and-Play” Approach
We decided to decouple the heating element from the main power housing. Instead of soldering the tubes directly into the guts of the machine, we use standard connectors. Think of it like a lightbulb. When it goes dark, you don’t buy a new lamp—you just swap the bulb. You can pull out a dead tube and pop in a new one without ever having to tear apart the weather-sealed enclosure. Here’s the thing about outdoor engineering: the seal is everything. If you have to open the main control box every time a lamp fails, you’re basically inviting humidity and moisture to move in. Our design keeps that seal tight. You only touch the external slot, and the electronics stay bone-dry.
Swapping parts in the field
Replacing a tube takes a few minutes. You unscrew the clips, slide the old tube out, and click the new one in. No soldering. No specialized tools. Just a quick swap and you’re back to staying warm. Now, there is a tiny trade-off. Using connectors instead of a permanent solder joint can create a bit of electrical resistance. But we’ve already handled that. We use high-conductivity alloy terminals so the connection points don’t overheat. It just works.
Making it last
Most high-output infrared lamps have a lifespan of about five years. Eventually, the filament thins out and the heat drops. When that happens, you don’t need a new heater. You just refresh the heating array. You keep the frame, the reflectors, and that heavy-duty IP65 housing. You only replace the parts that were meant to wear out. It saves you a ton of money in the long run and keeps a perfectly good heater out of the landfill.
